Centre readies portal for transgender persons to get identity certificate online, protect their privacy

On the portal, to be launched by the ministry of social justice and empowerment (MSJE) on Wednesday, transgender persons will be able to upload affidavit declaring their “self-perceived” gender identity, which will be the basis for the identity certificate to be issued by the district magistrate.
